1. WHY CHOOSE POLIGNANO A MARE?
Polignano a Mare is the ideal choise for you that direct your vacation in search of typical in all its artistic, architectonic, archaeological but, above all, anthropological and natural aspects. All this without renouncing to clean beaches and lympid and crystalline sea, scenic attractions, panoramic position, together with romantic walks. Geographically located in a privilegied area, it rises to short distance from the most famous tourist cities of Apulia: Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Itria Valley (Locorotondo, Noci, Martina Franca), Bari, Castel del Monte, Trani...and so on.
 
2. WHICH IS THE BEST PERIOD TO VISIT POLIGNANO A MARE?
Every season has its special moment and its hidden places to discover. Tourists crowd Polignano a Mare above all during summer and in particular in August and in its half-days, when it reaches the maximum of visitors. Climate is quite mild throughout the year and, since May, average temperatures reach over 20 degrees. In particolar we believe that April, May, June and September are the best periods to visit our land, as the sultriness of the central summer months and the crowding of tourists can be avoided, also with costs much more favorable.
 
3. WHAT SORT OF COASTS THERE ARE IN POLIGNANO A MARE?
The coast of Polignano a Mare, along 12 kms, is full of long and narrow inlets, known as "lame", that overlook the crystalline sea with its thousand shades: Cala Ponte, Cala Paura, Cala Porto, Cala Sala, Cala Incina are some of the most famous and attended beaches. There are caves dug into the rocks by the ereosive action of water, that delineate an area particularly interesting in spelaeological terms and that contribute to create a coastine rare and unique for beauty. Several of them are accessible only by the sea and can be visited by boat. The marine soundings have rare species of flora and fauna, making of Polignano an authentic paradise for the lovers of underwater excursions. Panoramic views of the coast can be admired from terraces overlooking the sea, around the Old Town. Therefore it is the sea the element that characterizes the small town of Polignano and makes it one of the most visited cities during the summery period. A sea rewarded from Europian Union with the prestigious recognition of 2009 Blue Flag for beaches.
 
4. HOW FAR IS THE HOLIDAY HOUSE FROM THE BEACHES?
Holiday House Gìrasole is about 1 Km far from Port Alga and 1,3 Km from Lama Monachile, made of stones and rocks. You can verify the distance of the House from some beaches on the web-site page "Directions".
 
5. HOW TO REACH HOLIDAY HOUSE GIRASOLE FROM BARI-PALESE AIRPORT?
It is possible to reach the House by train from Bari Centrale Station (FS Bari-Lecce line), through car-hire directly in the airport or by taxi.
 
6. HOW TO REACH THE HOLIDAY HOUSE BY CAR?
From motorway A14, taking Bari-North Exit and S.S 16 in Brindisi direction.
 
7. IS IT AVAILABLE A CAR PARKING?
Holiday House Girasole has a car place outside and is next to a large free parkins, so you can go out by car when you want, because when you return you find a place for your car soon.
 
8. WE HAVE NOT THE CAR. HOW CAN WE MOVE TO THE NEXT CITIES?
You can reach the main tourist cities near Polignano by bus and train. The Holiday House Girasole is 900 meters far from Railway Station and 400 meters far from bus stops.
 
9. ARE THERE SHOPS AND SUPERMARKETS NEAR THE HOUSE?
The Holiday House Girasole is 300 meters far from supermarkets, bar and stores and shops of various kinds. 
 
10. WHAT FLOOR IS THE HOLIDAY HOUSE ON?
The Holiday House Girasole is on the mezzanine floor of the building and has a private garden.
 
11. CAN WE START OUR HOLIDAY ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK?
Yes, there are not fixed change over days, even if we prefer stays from Monday to Monday.
 
12. CAN WE RENT THE  HOLIDAY HOUSE FOR LESS THAN A WEEK?
Yes, the minimum stay is normally of 3 nights, but it may vary according to availability and season. Nevertheless you should bear in mind that holidays of one week or longer are more economical as the price per night is considerably lower.
 
13. WHEN AND HOW DO WE BOOK THE HOLIDAY HOUSE?
You can book in all the periods of the year simply completing the Contactform. Although the available periods are costantly update, to avoid a overbooking, we will verify the availability of the Holiday House Girasole and, in positive case, we will send you within 24 hours an email with instructions on how to proceed with booking.
 
14. HOW CAN WE CONFIRM THE RESERVATION?
With the payment af a deposit amounting to the 20% of the price of holiday. From the moment we receive the payment (however within 24 hours from our confirmation of availability) we will confirm your reservation and send the Tourist Voucher. 
 
15. HOW DO WE PAY THE DEPOSIT?
Payment can be done through postal order and froma abroad only through Paypal.
 
16. DO WE HAVE TO PAY A CAUTIONARY DEPOSIT?
A cautionary deposit of 100€ is requested for Holiday House. It must be paid in cash when you check in and will be fully returned at the end of your holiday, less any charges for damages to the Holiday House and/or its forniture.
 
17. HOW DO WE PAY THE BALANCE?
The balance must be paid at the moment you check and in only in cash. 
 
18. WHAT DOES THE PRICE OF THE HOLIDAY INCLUDE?
The price of the holiday includes the self-catering (use of kitchen with its crockery and linen) and initial cleaning. Electricity, gas and water consumed during your stay must be paid separatly, expecially for long stays and numerous groups. In case of daily prices (applied for short stays) and little groups, the consumptions are included in the price.
 
19. HOW MUCH DO CHILDREN PAY?
Children from 0 to 3 years stay for free and from 3 to 6 years pay half price. Children aged 7 or over pay the full adult price.
 
20. CAN WE ACCOMODATE OTHER PEOPLE, IN ADDICTION TO THE NUMBER MARKED AT THE MOMENT OF RESERVATION?
No, you cannot accomodate other people in the Holiday House during your stay, because price is fixed according to the number and the kind of people indicated in your enquiry and confirmed in the Tourist Voucher. 
 
21. CAN WE BRING OUR PETS WITH US?
One small and medium pet is allowed, although specific request should be made prior to booking. Its presence in the Holiday House is admitted, respecting some rules of hygiene and courtesy, according to location Rules. In presence of pets, the extra-payment of final cleaning is 50 €.
 
22. HOW MANY PETS CAN WE BRING?
It is possible bring one pet for free. The presence of other pets must always be requested in advance and is subordinated to our acceptance and to a payment of an extra price.
 
23. WHERE WILL WE FIND THE KEYS OF THE HOLIDAY HOUSE?
You will be given the keys at the Holiday House when you check in.
 
24. WHEN CAN WE CHECK IN AND AT WHAT TIME ARE WE ASPECTED TO CHECK OUT?
Generally speaking, except for our different instructions, the Holiday House can be occupied in the afternoon of the arrival day, beetween 4.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. and you must check out by 9.00 a.m. of the departure day, in order we have time to prepare the house for new Guests. If the Holiday House is ready you may be albe to check in earlier. However, we cannot ensure that the Holiday House will be clean before by 4.00 p.m. Please inform us at least 7 days prior your arrival, via mail or telephone, of the time of your arrival. 
 
25. WILL THERE BE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE HOLIDAY HOUSE DURING OUR STAY? 
Absolutely not. Throughout your stay, you will have exclusive use of the whole Holiday House, including the kitchen, the bathroom and the garden.
 
26. IS THERE EVERYTHING FOR COOKING?
Yes, the Holiday House is equipped with cutlery, plates, pots and kitchen linen, for using of f maximum 5-6 persons.
 
27. ARE THERE TOWELS AND SHEETS OR HAVE WE TO CARRY THEM?
It is available only the kitchen linen. Bed linen and towels are not included but can be hired (15€ per person). 
 
28. ARE THERE PILLOWS AND BLANKETS IN THE HOLIDAY HOUSE?
Yes, there are pillows and blankets for all beds of the Holiday House and you will carry only your own bed linens, pillow case and matress protector.
 
29. ARE THERE ELECTRIC HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES IN THE HOLIDAY HOUSE?
Yes, the Holiday House is supplied with TV color, fridge with freezer, electric oven, iron and ironing board and ventilator.
 
30. CI SONO MOBILI DA GIARDINO NELLA CASA VACANZE?
Yes, the Holiday House has on the terrace tables and chairs in plastic and wood.
 
31. AT THE END OF THE HOLIDAY HAVE WE CLEAN THE HOUSE?
Yes, unless we agree to pay an extra for final cleaning. In any case you must however to empty the fridge and the pantry, to clean the sink and the cooker in the kitchen and to remove rubbish. 
 
32. ARE THERE CLEANING PRODUCTS IN THE HOLIDAY HOUSE?
The Holiday House is supplied with cleaning products, however we suggest to take or to buy direcly here the equipment necessary and of common use for kitchen and bathroom, such as hygienic paper, dusters, duster cloths, detergent and dishwasher.
 
33. MUST WE PAY ALL THE SUM INDICATED IN THE TOURIST VOUCHER IF WE ARRIVE LATER OR WE LEAVE EARLIER?
The entire amount indicated in the Tourist Voucher must be paid also if you arrive and take possession of the Holiday House one or more days later or if you leave the House before the day of your departure.
 
34. CAN WE ASK FOR THE REFUND OF DEPOSIT IN CASE OF CANCELLATION OF OUR HOLIDAY?
Considing the exiguity of the deposit and the economic damage we suffer in case of cancellation, because we difficulty will be able to rent the Holiday House to another group, the advance payment cannot be given back.
 
35. CAN WE TRANSFER OUR RESERVATION TO ANOTHER GROUP?
It is possible to transfer your reservation to another group, only if it is made of the same number of people and is homogeneous with the previuos one. In case of differences, we reserve to ourselves the right to accept or not the exchange.
 
36. CAN WE ASK A CHANGE OF RESERVATION?
We reserve to ourselves the possibility to accept a modification of the period of stay or of the composition of a group, compatibly with the availability of the Holiday House. In that case the location price may vary, according to the new period of permanence and to the number of guests.
 
37. WHO WE CAN CONTACT IN CASE OF PROBLEMS AND FOR INFORMATION?
We live in Polignano a Mare and we are totally available to make your stay pleasant. In the Tourist Voucher we will send you, there are the telephon numbers you can call for any need or problem.
